Sh. Shakti Pathak is the founder and guiding spirit behind the organization, working to revive the dying Basohli art. Basohli was formerly known as Vishwasthali, from where the organization takes its name. The organization’s aim is to preserve, disseminate and develop the rich heritage of Basohli, Basohli Paintings and Basohli Pashmina. The Basholi Paintings have peculiar characteristics, stylized faces Basohli art. |
Sincere efforts of Vishwasthali to revive the indigenous art of Basholi and popularize it in the international market. Kashmir and Basholi (in Jammu province) are the only places in the country where pashmina shawls are manufactured on looms, Concerted efforts are underway to conserve and revive the world famous Basohli paintings besides reviving pristine glory of historical Basohli town alongwith other social and development works in the surrounding area and especially affordable Housing Programme at “SADDAL” Distt.
